Our campaign filmclip

About the film

The statistics are stark enough. But they don’t capture the heartache of young women battling against the odds to get jobs that provide them with a decent future. Kerry wants to be a car mechanic but has been told she can’t – just because she’s female.

This short film is being shown at all three major political party conferences this autumn to draw attention to the experiences and aspirations of young women who demand more equal access to training and apprenticeships. As the film features a number of MPs who are already signed up to the campaign, we believe it will encourage more conference delegates to sign up.

The film aims to raise awareness and build public support behind our the campaign ahead of our regional lobbying starting in October. At this time we'll be concentrating on getting regional decisions makers to work with employers to increase opportunities for young women to train in non-traditional, better paid careers.
