Young mums aged 18 and under are often seen as a problem. Newspaper headlines, government policy and even the looks they get in the street can make them feel that society looks down on them.

But young mums work hard to be good mums. Despite what the media tells us, they are more likely to be living in poverty, in poor housing and with less support than other women and children.
YWCA's RESPECT young mums campaign calls for young mums to be treated equally. Browse around this website and find out more. Then, if you think young mums deserve more respect, sign the young mums' charter.
